Alison Krauss
The first wave of public recognition was for bluegrass musician Alison Krauss in 1990 when at age 19 she emerged of her first Grammy Awards with the trophy for Best Bluegrass Album. The award was impressive that was not solely due to the artist's age, but also because the album which brought her this recognition, I've Got That Old Feeling, was actually the third in Krauss's collection. The first album, Too Late to Cry came out when the Champaign, Illinois, native was 16; she had made a deal with Rounder Records, which is among the most prestigious folk music labels in the industry--at the age of 14. Krauss was always renowned for her incredible virtuosity and accomplishments, even at such an early age. Her love for bluegrass music which is among the most enduring and unappreciated forms in American tradition, is also an ongoing thing. Krauss had been an incredibly talented teenager, has become a professional musician and producer.
